5 myths of creating a 6-pack
- Sit ups will get you a 6-pack
- Sit ups will lose my love handles
- Doing lots of reps will make my abdominal muscles more defined
- Eating fat will make your abs disappear
- If you stop exercising your abdominals, the muscle will turn into fat
You can’t spot reduce fat, all sit ups do is make the abdominal muscles larger and stronger, it will not burn abdominal fat. This will make your waist look even bigger providing the fat is not shifted first
Wrong, if you target obliques thinking it will make your love handles smaller, your actually stimulating the muscle to grow and fat sitting on top of the obliques will make your love handles even more visible.
Wrong, abdominal muscles are the same as every other skeletal muscle, they get bigger, smaller, or stay the same. You can’t make a muscle more defined, you can only make it more visible by reducing bodyfat or increasing muscle mass.
Wrong, some fats are good for you, eating too many calories and not enough exercise will make your abs disappear.
Wrong, muscle fibres and fat fibres are completely different and its impossible for one to change into the other.
The truth behind getting a 6-pack
The only true way to get a 6-pack is by reducing the amount of fat all over your body. This can be done with a combination of clean diet, cardiovascular activity and weight training.
“But my friend has a 6-pack and he eats kebabs all day. He says he does 1000 sit ups when he wakes up each morning”
This is because your friend was lucky enough to be born with good genetics.
Hi Guys!,
First of all let me take this opportunity to thank you for the effort to put all this
detailed workout and plans on the site…..
I am a normal 200 lb guy and have been working out on my ABS daily, I had a tummy but now have reduced around 2 inches, what worries me is that after doing ABS, sometimes i get cramps in my Abodominals is it normal or i am doing somthing wrong…. Also Visibly I never found any change in my ABS, i meant like the 6 packs…. What seems to be the issue can you comment…
Thanks in Advance
