Back Pain Due To Nerve Root Irritation

  • Effects the nerve roots of the spinal region, usually caused by a disc prolapse or a small disc tear in the annulus

Cervical Disc Prolapse (Slipped Disc)

  • Effects the intervertebral discs of the cervical spine and the surrounding nerves, caused when a disc prolapses and puts pressure on the surrounding nerves

Mechanical Lower Back Pain

  • Effects the lumbar sacral region of the spine, can be caused by a mechanical strain (i.e. lifting too much with poor posture)

Pectoralis Major Rupture

  • Effects the Pec Major muscle on the chest wall, caused when the muscle is under a lot of tension or excessively stretched

Possible Serious Spinal Pathology

  • Effects the spinal cord, usually caused by violent trauma or a tumour

Whiplash

  • Effects mainly the muscles and ligaments around the neck, usually the result of being in a road traffic accident
