Loosing belly fat

Postby ciscobloke » Mon Feb 08, 2010 4:19 pm

HI

I am 6ft 1" 180Ibs male. I been loosing weight for past 4 months from 208Ibs. I'm finding it harder to loose weight now, but want to continue to do so until I see my abs slightly.

My problem is that i'm thin frame and alot of people have said i have gone to look ill in the face with my weight loss. (can't pick where she falls froms)

So my question is, if I increase my calorie intake and continue with same amount of exercise will i stay as I am or increase in weight with same body fat, or can you stay the same/increase look healthier but without the fat.

Don't want to look any worse in face etc, but want to loose around belly.

HELP!

Hi,

Without sounding too generic, everyone is different and react slightly different to weight loss and exercise.

It comes down to you finding out what suits your body best.

Increasing your calorie intake will increase your body weight, but it doesnt mean it will be fat.
Keeping up with your current exercise routine will mean a gradual weight loss if your diet allows it.

If your aim is to gain weight without increasing your body fat then you need to increase your protein intake.
Unlike carbs and fats your body doesnt store much protein and only uses what it needs while its passing through your body, any unused protein is excreeted.
Your body tends to store excess fats and carbs as an energy reserve.

So, to make things simple:

Keep up the exercise
Increase your protein intake
Cut down on carbs and fats

Cheers

Will this help with my appearance? If i increase protein to get more calories in and watch the carbs/fat... will i put on weight but not fat? At the mo, I take 2 whey shakes a day (roughly 45g total) and have either 1 chicken breat or can of tuna for lunch and then a chicken breast for tea. Is that enough protein? (not sure how much in chicken breast etc)

6ft 1" 180Ibs.

At the mo, im still focusing on cardio 3 to 4 times week 40 mins, Working my legs once a week, hamstring curls, leg extentions, leg press and for upper body I do pull ups, chin ups, dips and ab work. twice week.

If thats what your eating and thats your workout routine then you are on the road to victory.

The low carbs and fats will help shed body fat.
The protein will help muscle growth and the exercise will shape the muscles.

Keep at it

It seems the belly, waist and butt are the last places one loses the fat and the first places they pack it on. If you've been losing weight successfully on your current diet and current exercise routine, then I would stick to it. Losing those last few pounds is always tough but if you stick to it, they'll fall eventually.
