Rupture off Achilles Tendon will not snap as written. There is always a problem before the rupture. The Achilles will be thicker because vertical fibers of the tendon are weaker.
This is all visible with Ultrasound.

Hi Karl,
thank you so much for the comment. Knowing that the information we provide is being found useful and possibly helping others makes all the hard work the team puts in worth it.

Hi,I am currently studying physiotherapy with the developer of this course and I am amazed at the hard work and effort that has gone into it.Regarding this article, having suffered a ruptured achilles tendon last year I can honestly say that this is the best piece of advice that I have received since the incident.Ok, I do Physotherapy so I should know all about the injury right?Wrong! Not everything within the wide spectrum of physiotherapy is taught at univeristy, with most of it learned whilst out on clinical placement or when once qualified!I didnt have a clue about a ruptured achilles tendon when I suffered the horrific injury that it is!I knew what it was and I knew the test for it,but as for rehab and pathology I was stumped. Some books gave brief details and information was scatterly gathered over the course of the injury. If this website was up and running then,Then I am sure that I would have had all the information needed!Anyway,I am fully recovered (at the moment!) and am playing sports again! So,if you need information about the injury,I recommen this website!

Thanks!
