Calculators

BMI Calculator

  • Body mass index (BMI) is a measure of body fat based on height and weight that applies to both adult men and women
  • The reading is an average and should not be taken as gospel
  • For example, two people could have the same height and weight but one could be predominantly fat and the other predominantly muscle, both would have the same BMI but the more muscular person would be of a more healthy disposition

BMR Calculator

  • BMR is your Basal Metabolic Rate – the number of calories you would burn if you remained at rest all day
  • Your BMR decreases as you age
  • Your BMR decreases if you eat less
  • The best way to keep your BMR up is through a regular routine of cardiovascular exercise

Body Fat Calculator

  • Find out the approximate amount of body fat you are carrying
  • Your body fat percentage is the amount of your body that is made up of fat
  • For example, if you weigh 100 pounds and you have a fat percentage of 10%, that means your body has 10 pounds of fat and the remaining 90 pounds is made up of lean mass (such as muscle, bone, organ tissue, etc)
